1. Who can join the chapter?
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in cybersecurity, whether you are a current ISC2 member, a cybersecurity professional, or someone looking to enter the field. You do not need to hold an ISC2 certification to join our chapter, though many of our members do.
2. What are the benefits of being a member?
As a member, you gain access to a range of benefits, including:

3. How often and where does the chapter meet?
The ISC2 Charlotte Metro Chapter hosts regular meetings and events throughout the year, including monthly presentations, panel discussions, and social gatherings. We also collaborate with other local organizations for joint events and special conferences. We may take a break during the summer and over the holidays. We support local venues and will meet at various locations, rotating between the north and south ends of Charlotte. Be sure to check the events page for the most updated details on a location.
4. What types of events does the chapter organize?
Our events range from technical deep-dives and cybersecurity trends discussions to soft skills workshops and career development sessions. We also organize social events for members to network and build relationships in a more relaxed setting.
5. How do I earn CPE credits through the chapter?
Members can earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits by attending our chapter events, participating in webinars, and contributing to chapter activities. We ensure that our events are eligible for CPE credits to help you maintain your ISC2 certifications. Plus, we submit your CPEs to ISC2 on your behalf!
6. How can I get involved with the chapter beyond attending events?
There are many ways to get involved, such as volunteering for chapter initiatives, joining a committee, or even presenting at one of our events. We encourage members to actively participate and contribute to the chapter’s success.
7. How do I stay informed about upcoming events and chapter news?
Once you join, you’ll receive regular updates through emails and can follow our social media channels for the latest news. Members also have access to a dedicated LinkedIn group where we share event details, resources, and chapter discussions.
8. What is the cost of membership?
Membership to the ISC2 Charlotte Metro Chapter is $120 per year. Dues are due in January of each year. Membership dues may be prorated for the first year, based on date of registration. Chapter dues will resume in 2025.
9. I registered, why didn’t I receive an invoice?
2024 has been a year of transformation for our chapter as we work to rejuvenate and enhance our community. We are committed to making sure that the value and benefits of being a member are clear and impactful. This year marks your introduction to the chapter with a trial membership, and we sincerely hope that the experiences and opportunities you encounter will inspire you to continue as a valued member beyond 2024.
